We saw two pretty big orders in Coinbase (COIN) this morning in the Aug. 2 and August monthly expiration, $245 strike calls, with shares trading around $241.
COIN spiked big time during the first half-hour of trading, up nearly 7.4% by 10 a.m. ET before selling off and moving sideways into the afternoon.
If Trump’s speech is bullish for crypto, COIN could rip on Monday. If only we had a crystal ball to know…
We also saw a pretty hefty order in Goodyear (GT) that captures its July 31 earnings date.
With shares up 2% just above $12 on the day, a trader grabbed the August $12 calls, investing just under $300K in premium.
Contracts were going for around $0.75 at lunch time, so this is a cheap play — and y’all know I LOVE cheap options!
And speaking of “cheap,” we had two bullish orders hit late Thursday in SoFi (SOFI), which also reports earnings next week. With shares trading around $7.50, a trader — or traders — grabbed the August $7.50 and $8.50 calls. Shares popped 3% this morning before selling off.
The $7.50 call will offer more bang for the buck, obviously, with market makers expecting a move of $1.04 higher or lower by next Friday…
