This market has made swing trading a complete joke. Almost every setup gets destroyed before it even has a chance to work. You’re either early and get stopped out or late and end up buying premium that bleeds out the second you hit the button.
The volatility’s fake, the reversals are instant and nothing sticks.
We had a move down Friday, and I was ready. Loaded up on puts in names like AMD (AMD) and Target (TGT). Market opens Monday and everything rips straight up in the first two minutes.
Volatility? Gone. Puts? Crushed. You get maybe 30 seconds of follow-through before it reverses and makes you look like an idiot.
Option Premiums Are a Total Scam Right Now
Even when the market moves, you still don’t get paid. Gold rallies 1% — and if you bought weekly calls? You’re still down. Hims & Hers (HIMS) needs to move 10% just to break even. That’s how jacked up the pricing is. It’s not even about being right anymore — it’s about having perfect timing and praying for a headline.
The only plays that’ve worked are quick flips or pure lotto moves off unexpected news. That’s it.
Because if you don’t catch the move in the first five minutes, you’re toast. That’s why I’ve stopped trying to force trades and started focusing on hedging, earnings plays and scalping around levels that matter.
Everything else is just noise — and overpriced noise at that. So be safe out there and keep your head on a swivel. And don’t worry…
Because this too shall pass.

When you look at these plays, always take the market maker move into consideration.
You can be right on the direction but still lose money if the stock doesn’t move enough. That’s where the market maker move comes in clutch.
With puts, they’re often downside hedges in case a stock tanks, especially around earnings. The further out of the money they are, the more likely they are to be hedges.
Also be sure and check when the company’s earnings date is because many of the plays we post here are centered around earnings!
And finally, always remember the golden rule when it comes to buying calls: Buy dips, sell rips — and don’t chase!
If a stock’s moved a ton already today, maybe wait for a pullback.
