🚨 I’ll be live at 2 p.m. ET 🚨
I’m hosting an end-of-day trading event to see what we can catch before the close and more [tap to join us]!
There’s a couple of specific time windows that have been handing me consistent opportunities to double my money in under an hour. And no, it’s not some overhyped breakout pattern or complicated indicator setup.
It’s all about massive, flood-the-zone volume that can create forced buying conditions during the opening and closing hours of the trading day.
The opening hour creates optimal conditions for gamma squeezes because that’s when volume floods into the market. Thousands of options contracts can hit at once, leaving market makers with rapidly changing exposure that demands immediate risk management.
Why Market Makers Can Fuel the Move
It all comes down to how market makers manage risk every time they sell an options contract. If traders aggressively buy call options, market makers may purchase shares of the underlying stock to hedge their exposure. As the stock climbs and those options become more sensitive to price changes, they may need to buy even more shares.
That additional demand can push the stock higher, triggering another round of hedging. Under the right conditions, this feedback loop becomes a gamma squeeze — and that’s where these fast-moving opportunities can emerge.
And they aren’t just random home runs…
The common ingredients are high volume, large options orders and hedging pressure that can accelerate the underlying move.
2 Windows, 2 Distinct Setups
The final hour isn’t all that different. Volume often spikes again as traders adjust positions, institutions execute closing orders and market makers rebalance exposure before the bell.
The opening hour tends to reflect overnight news and pent-up orders, so I’m looking for immediate momentum and aggressive options activity. In the final hour, I’m watching for late-day volume acceleration, fresh breakouts and hedging pressure into the close.
The lesson is simple: Don’t watch the clock blindly. Watch what volume, options activity and market-maker hedging are doing during the first and last 60 minutes — because that’s where some of the day’s most explosive moves can begin.
I’ll be showing off my new method all week long, so be sure and tune in!
Order Flow:
This is for informational and educational purposes only. These are not official alerts issued by Lance, but rather some interesting orders picked by the team at Lance Ippolito Trading.
When you look at these plays, always take the market maker move into consideration.
You can be right on the direction but still lose money if the stock doesn’t move enough. That’s where the market maker move comes in clutch.
With puts, they’re often downside hedges in case a stock tanks, especially around earnings. The further out of the money they are, the more likely they are to be hedges.
Also be sure and check when the company’s earnings date is because many of the plays we post here are centered around earnings!
If a stock is really expensive, consider a spread to lower the cost.
And finally, always remember the golden rule when it comes to buying calls: Buy dips, sell rips — and don’t chase!
If a stock’s moved a ton already today, maybe wait for a pullback.

P.S. Are We Really in an AI Bubble?
Are we really in an AI bubble, as one of the market’s legends recently said?

Or is that just noise?
Well, the truth is no matter what happens next, there will also be an opportunity hiding somewhere.
You just need to know where to look…
And these days…
I’ve been looking more at the opening bell… for good reason.
You see, there’s a weird market anomaly that has been defying the doom and gloom headlines…
And sending stocks soaring… not in weeks or days…
But right in the first trading hour every day.
Tapping this anomaly helped deliver home runs like…

Now, there were smaller winners and those that didn’t work. And I won’t make reckless guarantees about the stock market…
But regardless of whether we’re in a bubble or not…
I believe this anomaly will keep sending stocks on explosive runs right in the first trading hour…
If you’d like to leverage it nonstop…
