Why I Wouldn’t Touch the Top Tech Stocks With a 10-Foot Pole Right Now

by | Sep 18, 2023

I’m not touching any of the sexy tech names like Nvidia, Netflix or AMD right now. Nope, my mouse-clicking finger is staying in my pocket.

If you do, I think you’re playing with fire… Things are just so uncertain in this market, and we could go either way in a hurry.

We did see some Tesla calls this morning but, personally, I like trading Tesla on Thursday and Friday because the weekly options are too expensive early in the week.

They’re also super volatile, so you’re pretty much just looking for a bounce in tech stocks going with Tesla calls at this point… There are cheaper ways to do that, like trading the Nasdaq 100-tracking QQQ ETF.

We did see some Verizon calls hit this morning. And to me, that’s a flight to safety at a time of turbulence in the market.

So to me, right now is no time to start getting frisky…

Monday’s Top Order Flow:

  • Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ): November $34 CALL.
  • Tesla Inc. (Nasdaq: TSLA): Sept. 22, $280 CALL.
  • Sofi Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: SOFI): November $9 CALL.
  • And more!

Note: If no date is listed after the month, it’s the monthly expiration (third Friday).

P.S. It’s Time to Buy — and Sell — the News!

At 10 a.m. ET on Tuesday, Sept. 19, the legendary Tom Busby and I are hosting a special one-off session where we’ll discuss the massive effects headline news is having on the market — and how we can trade it.

Why?? Well, a lot of folks don’t realize this yet…

But headline news stories are driving the majority of today’s most lucrative stock market moves.

In fact, I’d argue headline news and catalysts are the ONLY thing propelling stocks higher in 2023…

And, yes, I have a TON of research to back that up.

So in a market with very little to be excited about…

These headline stories are causing certain stocks to explode higher…
