While we didn’t see any upcoming earnings plays hit the News Flow Scanner through lunchtime on Tuesday, the action was still hot, particularly for chipmaker AMD…
With shares surging as much as 4%, we saw FIVE to total orders in AMD calls… and they were all over the board for strike prices.
Four of the five were in the weekly options that expire this Friday, with the big-money traders hitting the $136, $138, $140 and $145 strike prices.
The most premium was in the $140 calls, with a trader dropping about $269K.
The strangest order was a long-distance play in the April 2024 expiration, $190 strike calls. That would take a massive move in the stock from where it’s trading now, around $138.
We also saw put buyers in Intel on the heels of Oracle’s poor earnings report, and a couple of call buyers in Pfizer in the weekly and Dec. 29, $29 strike calls.
