Someone reached out to me recently about altcoins — how they’re supposedly going to catch up to Bitcoin and how there’s too big of a distance between them.

The traditional thinking goes that historically over the past decade, we should see altcoins surge to close that gap.

But here’s the thing — I don’t think so. And I’m going to explain exactly why this time is fundamentally different.

The Volume Problem Nobody Talks About

The problem with altcoins is simple…

They’re very small. They don’t have much market cap and they don’t do much volume trading on a per-day basis.

Bitcoin exchanges billions of dollars per day. The S&P 500 ETF (SPY) exchanges billions of dollars per day. An altcoin is sort of like a small-cap stock — maybe a couple of million dollars per day.

Right now, what’s driving the blockchain and crypto markets is institutional money coming in. That’s completely different from what we had before last year. From Bitcoin’s invention in 2008 all the way until 2024, it was largely driven by retail.

Even in 2024, it was only partway through when institutional ETFs started showing up. Before that, all the institutions were dismissing crypto, saying it wasn’t an investable asset.

Where the Smart Money Actually Goes

Now that institutional money is flowing in, that capital isn’t going to be evenly distributed across all coins. Institutions can’t invest in tiny altcoins just like they can’t invest in penny stocks.

Their money is going to be concentrated in the Bitcoins, Ethereums and major cryptos of the world.

Think back to the dot-com era…

Everyone and their mother started some company with “.com” in the name and listed it on the exchange. A bunch of money went into it — mostly from retail traders.

But what happened later? The institutions went into the Googles and Amazons of the world, the really big players.

And all the smaller companies that were only followed by retail traders just disappeared. That’s what we call the bubble bursting.

We’re going to see a similar burst in the altcoins at some point, probably sooner than later. I don’t know exactly when, but the writing is on the wall.

The institutional money revolution has changed the game permanently.

P.S. How I’m Targeting Multiple Trade Wins a Month — Even in Slow Months

Over the past four months, I’ve shown everyday traders like you how to capitalize on the market, and right now…

Almost everyone who followed along should be sitting in the green…

Now, as we step into the slow months, I’ll be leveraging this same approach that has locked in winners even in the roughest market conditions. Want to see how?

Here’s the Complete Breakdown

From 02/04/2025 – 06/27/25, the average win rate on live published trade alerts is 77.3%. The average overnight return on a $5k starting stake is $378.52 on both winners and losers. Every example is based on a $5,000 starting investment unless otherwise stated, however you can get started with as little as $500. We cannot guarantee any specific future results, as there is always high degree of risk involved in trading.
