It’s the opposite of Monday’s open as stocks are now down big in the S&P 500 and Nasdaq.
Dow stocks are holding relatively well in comparison but still down a bit. One thing I like about morning’s like this is it allows us to see what stocks are still strong in the face of a big gap down.
The gap down morning usually leads to the highest-probability trading for me, so I’m a big fan.
That’s why I always say when the market opens like it did Monday and everything is up, it’s best to fade stocks that start falling instead of looking at the strongest names.
Trading will be muted today ahead of the finale of the latest Federal Open Market Committee meeting at 2 p.m. ET, followed by comments from Fed Chair Jerome Powell at 2:30 p.m.
