2025 Market Kickoff: The PMI, Dollar Breakout, and Key Trends Shaping the Year Ahead

by | Jan 2, 2025

LIVE AT 1 PM ET: MY TOP STOCK FOR 2025 AND MORE!

Stocks are up nicely across the three major indices as we kick off the first trading day of 2025, and we have an important data point this morning in the PMI Manufacturing Final data at 9:45 a.m. ET.

The big thing pushing sentiment most in the market is how many countries may be hit with tariffs under the Trump administration. Meanwhile, geopolitical tensions are rising in China.

Earnings are also right around the corner, with the big banks kicking things off next week.

Crude oil prices are also rising above the 200-day moving average. And if crude’s rally continues, that’s inflationary. If we pass the 200-day, the next level to watch is right around the $76 level.

The U.S. dollar is breaking out right now, and gold is also starting to pick up. But I’d be very cautious right now with commodities like gold and crude oil because of the rising dollar.

Back to this morning’s rally… I do not trust it…

I’ll cover all that, my daily hitlist of longs and shorts and more in this morning’s “Premarket Must Watch” video!

P.S. LIVE AT 1 PM ET: MY TOP STOCK FOR 2025!

We’re only a few hours away from today’s live event where I’ll drop the sector, company and ticker of my No. 1 stock to target for big moves this year.

We were able to nail Nvidia correctly, and at the right time last year, leading to a 170% move higher!

And although I can’t guarantee any gains, I believe this year’s reveal could be even better.

We’ll go live by 1 p.m. ET today…

See You in a Few Hours — Happy New Year!
