If things play out right, I’m looking to drop a nice chunk of change on NFLX earnings today — join the party, LIVE at 2 p.m. ET!
Another day, another big down move for the Nasdaq soon after the open. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I’ve been all over this tech/chip stock meltdown.
So much so that we took a big swing at Advanced Micro Device (AMD) puts on Tuesday in our Trade Desk Alerts strategy, reeling in a 42.56%** overnight gain.
This trade was a lot more expensive than I normally like to take, but that’s how high my confidence was in what was about to happen.
Speaking of something that’s about to happen, my buddy Alex Reid just ran an options trading strategy by me that really caught my attention. It’s a way to spot undervalued options, but here’s the important part…
His average return is 125%***. I’m going to join him at 11 a.m. ET on Friday, July 19, to see what this is all about, so go here to RSVP and join us!
As far as what’s hitting today…
I’m covering Netflix during a live event at 2:30 p.m. ET, so be sure and be there for that (there are links above and below this article).
We did catch a play in Abercrombie & Fitch — my pick for stock of the year! — but it’s super expensive… It’s in the September monthly expiration, $155 strike calls, but these babies are going for around $16.50 a contract. No thanks!
I named ANF my top stock for 2024 way back in late December, and it’s up 75% year to date, even after a big sell-off from the highs of mid-June, when shares peaked over $190 apiece (they’re just over $150 now, but started the year at $87)…
We did see some Schlumberger (SLB) hit the scanner earlier this week with the company reporting before the open Friday.
Shares are trading just over $49, and market makers are only expecting a move around 73 cents higher or lower for this week, so it would take a big surprise to get to $52.50. Though, market makers expect a move around $6.71 by September…
We also saw some Haliburton (HAL) calls hit earlier this week, and shares are squarely in the money today. HAL also reports Friday before the open.
This doesn’t really blow our hair back, but be sure to tune in at 2 p.m. ET to see what we’re planning for Netflix earnings!
Remember, these are earnings plays and anything can happen. Size in accordingly, respect the risk and if nothing else, just paper trade them and see what you can learn from the reports and reactions to apply to future trades!

P.S. Ready to Trade NFLX Earnings?
I’m opening up the live room now to see if NFLX flashes on the scanner ahead of its earnings report today.
Whether it flashes a bullish or bearish signal…
It really doesn’t matter. Because when NFLX moves during earnings, those moves usually turn out to be pretty BIG…
And I’ll be focusing my efforts on the scanner, which is already hinting at a possible trade…
If all goes as planned, I’ll be putting $3,000 on the line, looking to target a double!
Obviously, I cannot promise future profits or shield against losses, but…
