Just because the meat of earnings season is behind, that doesn’t mean the fun is over…
Not by a long shot!
In fact, we have some major companies reporting this week, including Nvidia after the close on Tuesday along with HP, and some other retail names like Nordstrom and Guess, among others.
But first, we saw some January monthly, $18 strike calls in YPF, an Argentine oil company. We also saw an order recently in GGAL, another Argentinian name — stocks we hardly if ever see hit the News Flow Scanner.
The country just had some elections, and the president who favored smaller government and less regulation won, and it has been a boon for these stocks.
We also saw a $533,000 short bet in PDD, a Chinese ADR name. These puts are out of the money and PDD reports earnings on Nov. 27.
The stock was up over 3% today, and it’s up well over 50% the past month. This trader could of course be hedging a long position, or looking for a retracement back down after the big run higher.
For earnings plays, Best Buy spent most of the day just barely in the red, down about 0.5% to just under $68 a share.
Markets are seeing a nice rally Monday ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, so party on!
