We’re almost through earnings, but the unusual options activity hitting the ol’ News Flow Scanner has been spot on…
If you missed it, Tuesday’s newsletter covered the weekly expiration, $300 strike CrowdStrike (CRWD) calls and the company reported earnings after the close.
Today, CRWD opened up more than $60 higher, topping out around $360 a share — BANG, an absolute moonshot!
And with retailers reporting this week, we have one of my favorite retailers reporting after the close today: Victoria’s Secret (VSCO).
I’m kidding, of course…
But the bulls jumped on some deep-in-the-money calls in VSCO with shares falling pretty hard ahead of today’s report, down over 4% to around $25.50 a share as of 1:15 p.m. ET.
Market makers expect a move of around $4.68 higher or lower, which is a hefty amount for a $25 stock.
We also saw an order in Marvell Technology (MRVL), which reports Thursday after the close, and we got two orders Tuesday for Ciena (CIEN), a call and a put.
As always, everyone of these March plays is likely to go to $0 if wrong, so use proper risk management!
