While there are no guarantees, we’ve already hit it big on one play this morning after a $2.7 million order hit in Nvidia (NVDA) calls on the heels of its announced addition to the Dow, where it will replace Intel (INTC).
We included that play below, as well as a longer-dated play in the king of chip stocks!
We’ll keep things relatively short here today since we’re live trading, but we figured it might be good to hit on an order we dropped in this newsletter on Friday in Hims & Hers (HIMS)…
We covered the HIMS Nov. 8 expiration, $20 strike calls with the company reporting earnings after the close today. The stock popped as much as 4.5% this morning, and if you follow the rules of good risk management, that would have been the time to take some profits amid the morning pop, and then maybe leave a runner on to catch the earnings event if you feel so inclined.
This is how we often like to play these orders hitting for earnings in the days ahead: Find a trade you really like and lighten up on any rips. And if everything plays out right, unload most of the position before the company reports, leaving a runner on for a potential grand slam.
Get in, get out, and take the money and run while setting yourself up for a monster win if the earnings hit.
