In Tuesday’s Blitz Daily with Lance Ippolito, we take a look at grocery retailer Albertsons Companies. With more than 2,000 stores, it’s the second-largest supermarket chain in North America after Kroger.
Albertsons announced last week that it’s rolling out “smart carts” in select stores as part of an agreement with Veeve Inc., a retail technology startup led by ex-Amazon engineers.
These carts not only include a scale for weighing and calculating the purchase price of produce, they keep a running tally of the total purchase. They’re even integrated with the store’s loyalty program and allow customers to complete their transaction on the cart itself, completely skipping the checkout line!
This new tech combined with food shortage fears have the bulls coming for the company, dropping $364,000 on around 2,000 contracts of the June 17, $28 strike calls!
Of course, that’s not the only stock hitting the tape Tuesday. Check out these top trades…
- Albertsons Companies Inc. (NYSE: ACI): June 17, $28 CALL.
- Smith & Wesson Brands Inc. (Nasdaq: SWBI): July 15, $15 CALL.
- Guess’ Inc. (NYSE: GES): June 17, $15 PUT.
- The Gap Inc. (NYSE: GPS): June 10, $9 PUT.

P.S. Can you imagine the horror of watching your retirement tumble by tens of thousands of dollars and having no way to stop it or get out?
When traders panic sell, it creates an immediate deficiency of buyers…
And becomes a NIGHTMARE.
But it also creates a unique opportunity that was once reserved for the elite of Wall Street…
And now almost anyone can do it!
