In Monday’s Blitz Daily with Lance Ippolito, we take a look at top energy name Exxon Mobil as oil prices move higher.
Markets saw more choppy conditions Monday, with the major indexes catching a midday rally after gapping down as much as 1% from Friday’s close.
Energy names continue to climb through the volatile conditions after Saudi Arabian officials signaled the country may cut production late last week.
With oil prices surging, supermajor oil company Exxon Mobil is among the biggest movers in the sector, with shares jumping over 3% to start the week and sparking massive bullish bets in the options chain.
Just 30 minutes after Monday’s opening bell, my scanners spotted institutional traders sweeping up over 900 contracts of the Sept. 2 expiration, $102 strike calls for more than $105,000 in premium!
Of course, that’s not the only outsized options flow rolling in Monday…
- Exxon Mobil Corp. (NYSE: XOM): Sept. 2, $102 CALL.
- United Airlines Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: UAL): March 17, 2023, $29 PUT.
- Affirm Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: AFRM): Oct. 21, $20 PUT.
- Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA): Sept. 2, $165 PUT.
