When a seemingly random ticker hits the News Flow Scanner, that generally gets my attention. And we saw a couple of out-of-the-ordinary orders hit Wednesday…
First up was a rather large order in airliner JetBlue (JBLU), tipping the scales at nearly $370K in premium!
Airline stocks like Delta and American Airlines have caught a nice bid the past month, up 15% and 13%, respectively, as travel stocks have popped.
So this trader may be looking to catch a lift higher in the March expiration, $5 strike calls with shares trading between $5 and $5.50 on Wednesday.
With a March expiration, these could be worthwhile, especially if there’s a pullback.
We also saw orders in Ferroglobe (GSM) and C4 Therapeutics (CCCC), a couple of tickers you don’t see hit often — if ever! Check out the order flow below for full details.
Finally, we saw a wild move in some Oracle calls following the company’s disappointing earnings report this week. The Monday report knocked about $15 off the stock’s share price, from $115 down to $100 soon after the open this morning.
Then around 10:30 a.m. ET, we saw an above-ask order in the Dec. 22 expiration, $102 strike calls, which promptly exploded higher. With shares down 1.28% on the day to around $99.50, shares spiked about $3.50 in about 1 ½ hours, sending these calls popping about $0.80 higher in no time!
