As for what’s hitting today, we have a ticker reporting after the close that rarely if ever hits the News Flow Scanner…
DexCom (DXCM) is a company that makes products to monitor glucose for diabetics. But that’s not what makes this pick interesting.
But like we said, it rarely hits the scanner, and it’s a pretty hefty chunk of premium at $550K — trading volume today is also above average so far.
That doesn’t mean this trader will be right, of course, but it does catch our attention.
The stock is trading down about 1.9% this afternoon to just under $110 a contract, with market makers expecting a move of $10.65 higher or lower on the announcement with the trader snagging the August monthly expiration, $113 strike calls.
We also saw another bullish bet in Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY), the second in the past couple of days. We saw a $189K bet on Tuesday, and shares are up about $2.40 since then so it’s a bit further in the money now.
Today, we saw a trader grab the Aug. 2, $46 calls with shares trading around $45.50 and market makers expecting a move of $2.20 higher or lower.
Finally, we also saw a pretty massive, $1.6 million order in CVS (CVS) that captures its Aug. 7 earnings date.
CVS is marching higher today, but this order is about $6 out of the money. This could be one to watch over the next week or so.
