The new year is just a few short days away, and 2019 feels like it was just yesterday. Time sure flies, even when you’re in a global pandemic…
And I suspect the beginning of the new year will feel a lot like the worst of the worst colliding, which is why WealthPress Senior Strategist Roger Scott and I compiled a list of stocks to watch in 2022 to stay ahead of this.
You see, the economy is already slowing down due to inflation, and it’s poised to run red hot soon. Then we’ll have a stock market that regularly does 5% to 10% corrections as a result.
We’ll be in for a volatile ride.
Traders are going to have to be more active in the market as the easy, low-hanging fruit of buying a stock and patiently waiting for it to move could cause their account to blow up.
That’s why these stocks to watch in 2022 — and my Round Trip Trading Club strategy — are the perfect defense against upcoming volatility.
The Top Stocks and Sectors to Watch in 2022
We expect interest rates to shoot up as high as 2% in 2022, which is why Roger is aggressive about shorting bonds, and why financial stocks will be a good place to hide out.
With this shocking rise in rates in mind, we’re also watching and slowly moving into Utilities, Consumer Staples, Energy and storage stocks — which are at all-time highs right now.
But while a ton of things are projected to change next year, I’m still playing the same tune with some of the stocks and sectors I’m trading in right now.
I’m still going to be long the Russell 2000, value stocks, the iShares 20 Plus Year Treasury Bond ETF (Nasdaq: TLT), and I remain extremely bullish on my current Monthly Money Flows Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) trade.
One of the key things investors will need to do in 2022 is brush up on their active trading endeavors. In order to catch big volatility waves, I predict we’ll be hit more within the coming weeks.
But there’s one particular stock I expect to really rip once the new year hits…

P.S. It didn’t take me long to get this former member of both the CBOE and the American Stock Exchange on board with these “Round Trip” signals.
I’m talking about trader extraordinaire, Mark Sebastian. He normally doesn’t take trades from other people… But the strategy Jeff’s been showing him has so far opened his eyes wide.
And traders will have the chance to tap into what he says “might be the most explosive strategy I’ve ever seen.”
