Sorry to interrupt your holiday season, but we have a problem…
The indices are extended beyond their normal range. They are extremely overbought, and Thursday kicks off the official Santa rally time frame.
This combination means it will be hard for an extended market to rally over the next five trading days when human patterns change dramatically for the holidays (Santa rally).
This pattern change is true for both the retail trader and big money institutions.
In my opinion, the current over extension combined with the pending Santa rally pattern change points to one of three possibilities…
- The market is truly strong heading into 2024.
- It is setting up for a January fall.
- Or it’s planning a fake out the last week of 2023.
